Getting Things Going - COMMISSIONS OPEN

Fri Jun 26, 2009, 1:01 PM
Alrighty! Things are getting back to normal which means commissions will be reopening in July and I can start taking orders now. Note me if interested in reserving a space, for price quotes, questions, comments, concerns, etc. I'm trying to go through and notify everyone who asked while I was away so hopefully no one will be missed. Thanks guys! :D

Other news? I'm uploading some of the Italy pictures now, feel free to enjoy my less-than-stellar photography skills and the more-than-stellar architecture/scenery from Italy.

Have a great summer everyone!

Yay! Watches all around! :D
:wow: How on EARTH do you make such perfect yarn hair?! I am so jealous of all your lovely work!
Aw shucks! :aww:

Mostly the yarn just does it's thing. It's a lot better at imitating crazy anime hair than real hair would be (hooray for defying gravity!).
Yeah I know, anime hair and outfits sometimes.. :o But do you sew it on piece by piece? Or mount it all on a piece of felt or something? It looks like it keeps it shape well.
(To quote Fairly Oddparents, "COIF!" :lmao:)
Usually I tie a bunch of cut yarn in the center (kinda like how you tie some accordion folded paper in the center and bend it to make a fan in kindergarten) and stitch down the knotted part where the hair part would be on the character's head and style it from there (slicked back or bangless styles/pigtails are a little more complicated). A lot of Tacky or hot glue is involved from there (almost always on the scalp) and creative cutting. It generally keeps shape pretty well, although every now and the it needs some fluffing - especially when I store them in bags to keep the dust off. They all look kinda funny until some upside down time after that. Does that make sense?

(also - bonus points for 'COIF.';) :D
im loving your plushies, theyre very good
