I usually use a combination of jersey (think t-shirt material) and regular broadcloth to make the body. Runo has some really good patterns available (just google her) that got me started. As far as clothes go, I've used just about everything depending on the costume. I make up the patterns as I go, but a basic idea of how 'real' clothes fit together helps a lot. Don't get frustrated if your first attempt comes out really weird, by time two or three you'll get the hang of it, k? Hope that helps!
that helps a lot! Jersey, that makes sense. Very easy to shape for the body. As for clothes I can manage them a bit- I'm ok with making people size, so its just a matter of scaling down and simplifying. Thanks!
